Butterfly Feint OX – Deceptive Long Pips for Maximum Disruption
Butterfly Feint OX is a versatile long pips table tennis rubber without sponge (OX), designed for defensive players seeking maximum spin variation and deception. With flexible long pips, a lightweight build, and precise Japanese quality, Feint OX delivers disruptive trajectories, strong reversal (backspin), and effective blocking or chopping capabilities close to the table. Made in Japan and ITTF-approved, this rubber is an ideal choice for players who value spin variation, stability, and lightness—especially when playing with 40+ plastic balls.

Key Features:
Rubber Type: Long pips
Speed: 45/100
Spin: 35/100
Stability: 4/10
Variation: 8/10
Sponge Hardness: No sponge (OX)
Colors: Red, black
Country of Origin: Japan
Approval: ITTF approved

Minimalist Design Focused on Deception and Spin Variation
Feint OX features a minimalist construction optimized for modern defensive play:

No Sponge (OX): The rubber has no sponge, making it extremely lightweight (~45 g uncut, ~25–30 g cut) and offering minimal bounce. The absence of sponge allows Feint OX to return the opponent’s spin almost unchanged, creating difficult situations for the opponent. Compared to Butterfly Feint Long III (with 25° sponge), Feint OX offers less control but greater deception and spin variation (variation: 8/10).

Long Pips Top Sheet: The top sheet uses flexible, long pips optimized for medium flex and compliant with ITTF limits on length and diameter. The pips are thin and densely packed, ensuring strong spin reversal and disruptive effects such as a “wobbly knuckleball” (unpredictable trajectory). It is durable, wear-resistant, and suitable for plastic balls. Compared to Feint Long II, Feint OX’s pips are slightly more flexible, aiming for maximum disruption close to the table.

Pip Geometry: The long pips are designed to produce a wide range of spin (variation: 8/10) while maintaining moderate stability (stability: 4/10). Their flexibility enables easy manipulation of the ball’s trajectory, returning the opponent’s topspin as backspin or executing no-spin flat hits. Compared to TSP Curl P1R, Feint OX pips are less stiff, offering more variation but less stability.

No High Tension Technology: Unlike Feint AG, Feint OX does not use High Tension technology, resulting in lower speed but a natural feel tailored for deception and defense. It increases the ability to disrupt opponents but demands proper technique when attacking or blocking.

Only Available in OX Version – Lightness and Variation
Feint OX is offered exclusively without sponge (OX), ensuring maximum lightness and spin return. It is extremely lightweight—comparable to Dr. Neubauer Trouble Maker OX or Nittaku Pimplemini OX. Available in red and black, in line with ITTF standards. It comes with a Butterfly Chack Sheet for easier mounting, but Butterfly recommends using Free Chack glue or Chack Sheet additionally.

Technical Ratings Optimized for Deceptive Defense:
Speed (45/100): Very slow, as typical for OX long pips, ideal for chop-blocks, chops, and passive blocks. Compared to Feint Long II (62.5/100), Feint OX is slower, focusing on disruption rather than aggression.
Spin (35/100): Limited spin generation, but flexible pips manipulate the opponent’s spin effectively, returning strong reversal or flat, disruptive effects. Compared to Feint Long III (6.8/10 spin), Feint OX has slightly less spin but more variation and the knuckleball effect.
Control: Not officially rated, but offers medium control due to no sponge and flexible pips, especially effective in close-to-table blocks and chops. Compared to Feint Long III (8.6/10 control), Feint OX is less controllable but more disruptive.

Trajectory: Low and highly unpredictable, with strong disruptive effects (variation: 8/10). The pips create a “wobbly knuckleball” trajectory or strong reversed backspin, forcing opponents into errors. Users highlight its “deceptiveness” and “disturbing trajectories,” especially for close-to-table blocking.

Ideal Pairing with Defensive and All-Round Blades:
Butterfly Innershield Layer ZLF: Enhances feel and control for chopping.
Butterfly Hadraw Shield: Increases deception and stability—great for classic defenders.
Butterfly Diode V: Balances defense and light offense, ideal for modern all-round defenders.
Butterfly Primorac: Adds stability and feel, suitable for aggressive blocking.

It also works well with other defensive blades like Stiga Defensive Classic. Its lightweight and flexible pips compensate for hard blades, increasing disruption. Players recommend using Feint OX on the backhand for maximum deception and spin variation. Optimized for plastic balls, the pips effectively return opponents’ spin.

Target Audience & Use Cases:
Feint OX is tailored for defensive players prioritizing deception and spin variation:

Advanced defenders familiar with long pips technique, seeking a wide spin range and disruption.
High-level players needing a lightweight rubber for both close-table defense and occasional offense.
Defensive distance play: Chops, reversed backspin, disruptive returns.
Close-to-table play: Blocks with “wobbly knuckleball” effect, flat hits without spin.

Performance Ratings by Skill:
Blocking: 8.7/10 – Extremely effective near the table with unpredictable trajectories.
Chopping: 8.5/10 – Strong spin reversal, especially at long range.
Attacking: 8.0/10 – Enables flat, low-spin hits that often disturb opponents.
Serving: 7.8/10 – Pips add deceptive effects.
Compared to Feint Long II, Feint OX is more disruptive but offers less control. Users praise its deceptiveness and lightness, but note it requires technical skill to unlock its full potential.
