The Neottec Kanji Def is a modern DEF+ (Defensive with offensive elements) category blade, specifically designed for defenders who like to mix heavy backspin chops away from the table with sudden and powerful attacking actions.

The blade features a construction of 5 wood plies and 2 carbon plies ($5+2$ construction). The carbon fiber inserts are integrated to provide the additional power for offensive strokes—which is typically lacking in classic defensive blades—while maintaining a high level of control and precision.

The blade's thickness is approximately $6.5-6.6$ mm, and its approximate weight is around $85$ g. It is made from Koto and Limba wood plies, and the enlarged playing surface area ensures better reliability when executing defensive chopping strokes.
