Butterfly Glayzer – Balanced Offensive Rubber for Modern Play
Butterfly Glayzer is a modern pimples-in table tennis rubber focused on control and offensive performance, designed for all-round attackers and advanced all-round players. Featuring a Spring Sponge X base, a grippy surface based on Dignics 05 topsheet technology, and precise Japanese craftsmanship, Glayzer provides an excellent balance of speed, spin, and control—enabling powerful topspin shots on both forehand and backhand. Made in Japan and ITTF-approved, this rubber is an ideal choice for players seeking stability, power, and security in attacking play, especially when using 40+ plastic balls.

Advanced Technologies for Balanced Offense and Durability
Butterfly Glayzer features innovations that blend offensive capabilities, control, and longevity to meet the demands of modern table tennis:

Sponge (38°): Made with Spring Sponge X technology, the sponge is medium-hard (38° on the Butterfly scale, similar to 45–48° on the ESN scale), also used in the Dignics series. Spring Sponge X is 14% more elastic and 3% more shock-resistant than the original Spring Sponge, providing a strong "catapult" effect and stable energy transfer. Compared to Dignics 05 (40°), Glayzer’s sponge is slightly softer, offering better control and less bounce, making it suitable for a wider range of players.
Grippy topsheet: Based on Dignics 05 topsheet technology, the surface features a high-grip (not tacky) structure with enhanced wear resistance. The flexible topsheet prolongs ball contact, creating a “holding” sensation that helps generate spin and precision. Compared to Tenergy 05, the Glayzer surface is less aggressive but offers more stability and security, especially for looping and counter-attacking.
Pimples structure: The pimples are medium-length with an optimized layout based on Dignics 05 geometry (No. 05). They provide excellent spin and stability, effective for topspins, blocks, and flicks. Compared to Dignics 09C, Glayzer pimples are less focused on maximum spin but offer a better speed-control balance for all-round attackers.
No High Tension technology: Although it uses Spring Sponge X, Glayzer is not classified as a High Tension rubber, unlike Dignics or Tenergy. This results in a more natural feel focused on control rather than pure speed, making it easier to handle for beginners and intermediate players.

Sponge Thickness Options:
Available in 1.9 mm and 2.1 mm sponge versions:
1.9 mm – Suited for controlled shots and backhand use.
2.1 mm – Offers maximum speed and power on the forehand.

The rubber has a medium weight (~65 g uncut, ~45–48 g cut), comparable to Tenergy 05 and Yasaka Rakza 7. Available in red and black (ITTF standard colors). Butterfly recommends using Free Chack glue for assembly.

Performance Characteristics for Controlled Offense:
Speed (81/100): Medium speed, ideal for looping, counter-attacks, and flat hits. Slower than Dignics 05 (~90/100) but more stable and controllable—suitable for players of all levels.
Spin (73/100): Strong spin generation on topspins, serves, and loops against backspin. Slightly less spin than Tenergy 05 (~80/100) but with enough grip for disruptive trajectories.
Control: Not numerically rated, but the softer sponge and stable topsheet provide high control. Compared to Dignics 05 (~6/10 control), Glayzer is easier to handle—ideal for both attack and passive play.
Trajectory: Medium-high (8.2/10), with a stable, slightly curved arc that helps topspin shots clear the net safely. Slightly lower trajectory than Tenergy 05, but higher than Dignics 64—ensuring accuracy and reliability. Users emphasize its “safety” and “control,” especially for looping and counter-play.

Versatile Pairing with Blades Based on Player Style:
Butterfly Timo Boll ALC: Adds speed and power—great for aggressive attackers.
Butterfly Innerforce Layer ZLC: Balances speed and control—ideal for all-round play.
Butterfly Petr Korbel: Enhances feel—great for loop-based play and skill development.
Butterfly Harimoto Innerforce ALC: Boosts spin and stability—suited for backhand play.

Also works well with all-wood blades like Yasaka Sweden Extra, as the Spring Sponge X and grippy topsheet compensate for the blade’s flexibility, providing power and control. Users recommend 2.1 mm for forehand to maximize speed, and 1.9 mm for backhand to enhance blocking control. Optimized for plastic balls, with a surface that effectively generates spin and high trajectories.

Ideal for Offensive and Advanced All-Round Players:
• For beginner attackers (1–5 years experience) looking to develop technical topspins with high control.
• For advanced players (5–10+ years experience) seeking a stable rubber for loops, counters, and short game.
• Effective at all distances: mid-distance topspins, close-table blocks, far-table counters.
• Especially strong for backhand exchanges due to its stability and control.
Serves and returns: Grippy surface allows disruptive serves and precise returns.

Skill Ratings:
Looping: 8.7/10 – Strong spin and reliable trajectory
Blocking: 8.6/10 – Precise and safe, even against heavy topspin
Flicks & Short Game: 8.5/10 – Good control and quick response
Serves: 8.5/10 – Grippy for deceptive spins
Serve Return: 8.8/10 – High precision and control

Compared to Dignics 05, Glayzer is easier to control and suited to a wider range of players. Users praise its “balance,” “control,” and “safety,” especially on the backhand side.
